This Web Hosting Policy (“Policy”) outlines the guidelines, rules, and procedures governing the use of web hosting services provided by TAS Belize (“Provider,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our web hosting services, you agree to adhere to this Policy. This Policy is designed to ensure the secure, reliable, and responsible use of our services in accordance with industry best practices, including recommendations from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Acceptable Use

  1. Lawful Use: Users must use our web hosting services for lawful purposes only, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Any use of our services for illegal activities is strictly prohibited.
  2. Prohibited Content: You shall not upload, publish, or distribute any content that is offensive, defamatory, infringing, or harmful. This includes content that promotes pornography, discrimination, violence, or any form of harassment.
  3.  Security Measures: Users are required to implement appropriate security measures for their hosted content, such as using strong passwords, regularly updating software, and applying security patches.

Resource Usage

  1. Fair Usage: Users are expected to use our resources in a fair and responsible manner. Excessive resource usage that negatively impacts the performance of the server or other users is prohibited.
  2. Abuse of Resources: Any activity that constitutes abuse of resources, such as running resource-intensive applications or sending spam, is strictly prohibited.

Security and Privacy

    • TAS Belize does not monitor the activity of accounts except for measurements of system utilization, the account has signed on to a maintenance or security package and/or other Internet statistics, such as directory size, system hits, etc. However, in our efforts to promote good citizenship within the Internet community, if we become aware of inappropriate use of the service, we will respond.
    • TAS Belize reserves the right to terminate service without notice. Our preferred course of action would be to advise the account owner of the inappropriate behavior and corrective action necessary. However, flagrant violations will result in immediate termination of service.

Vulnerability Reporting: Users who discover security vulnerabilities in our systems should promptly report them to our support team at su*****@*******ze.com. Exploiting or publicizing vulnerabilities without authorization is prohibited.

Maintenance

  1. It may be necessary for TAS Belize staff to examine system accounting logs and other records to resolve system problems. TAS Belize reserves the right to access any account’s directories to investigate and/or resolve system problems. The Section webmaster will be notified if changes are required.
  2. We reserve Fridays for performing maintenance when necessary. If we expect downtime of more than 5 minutes, we will contact webmasters within 48 hours prior to performing maintenance work.
  3. Our priority is to keep our systems updated with security fixes. As such, we cannot be responsible for ads hosted on our servers that may be impacted by a system or plugin upgrade.

Content Ownership and Copyright

  1. Ownership: Users retain ownership of the content they upload to our servers. We do not claim ownership of user-generated content.
  2. Copyright Compliance: Users must ensure that they have the necessary rights and permissions for any content they publish. Copyright infringement is not tolerated.

Backups

  1. User Responsibility: While we may provide backup services, users are responsible for maintaining their own off-site backups of critical data.
  2. Backup Availability: Backup services are provided as a courtesy, and we do not guarantee the availability or integrity of backups at all times.

Suspension and Termination

Cancellation Policy

This Cancellation Policy (“Cancellation Policy”) outlines the procedures and guidelines regarding the cancellation of web hosting services provided by TAS Belize (“Provider,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our web hosting services, you agree to adhere to this Cancellation Policy. This Policy is designed to provide clarity and transparency regarding the cancellation process.

  1. Cancellation Process
    • Request for Cancellation: Users who wish to cancel their web hosting services must submit a cancellation request by filling out our ‘Cancelation of Service Agreement’ form [HERE].
    • Confirmation of Cancellation: Upon receiving a cancellation request, we will review and process the request within 3 business days. An email confirmation will be sent to the user’s registered email address, confirming the cancellation and providing relevant details.
  1. Refund Policy
    1. 3 Months Payment: For users on the 3 month payment billing billing plans, there are no cancellation fees. If the cancellation request is submitted before the end of the current billing cycle, the user’s services will be terminated at the end of that cycle, and no further charges will be applied. No refunds will be issued for the unused portion of the billing cycle.
    2. Annual and Longer-Term Plans: For users on annual or longer-term billing plans, no refunds will be issued for the unused portion of the billing cycle. The cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle or upon request by client.
  1. Termination of Services
    • Cancellation Effective Date: The cancellation of web hosting services will take effect on the last day of the current billing cycle, regardless of the plan type.
    • Data Removal: Upon cancellation, all user data and content associated with the hosting account will be permanently deleted from our servers. Users are responsible for maintaining their own backups of any data they wish to retain.
  1. Payment Obligation
    • Outstanding Payments: Users must settle any outstanding payments before the cancellation takes effect. Failure to settle outstanding balances may result in suspension of services until the payment is made.
    • Service Charge:
      • Upon submitting a cancellation request, clients are advised that a standard service charge of $200 BZD per site will apply. This fee encompasses all the necessary administrative and technical procedures required to diligently prepare and facilitate the seamless handover of the client’s files and data.
      • The service charge is designed to cover the costs associated with securely packaging and transferring your data to ensure the integrity and privacy of your information. Additionally, it supports the efforts of our team in managing the orderly cessation of hosting services, ensuring a smooth transition for both parties involved.
      • Please note that the service charge is independent of any outstanding payments and does not encompass any ongoing subscription fees or charges accrued during the period of service.
  1. Refusal of Service
    • Abuse of Policy: We reserve the right to refuse service to users who repeatedly subscribe and cancel services as a means to abuse our cancellation policy.

Amendments

  • Policy Updates: We may update or modify this Policy from time to time. Users will be notified of any changes via email or through our website. Continued use of our services after the policy changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
