Mocha Jewel Announces the Release of Her Debut Single “Feeling” — A Bold Anthem About Self-Worth, Freedom, and Walking Away

Dangriga, Belize — October 23, 2025 — Belizean singer-songwriter Mocha Jewel proudly announces the release of her debut single, “Feeling,” set to drop tomorrow, October 24, 2025, on all major streaming platforms. This powerful and emotional track marks a defining moment in her artistic journey and introduces a fresh, unapologetic voice to the Belizean music scene.

A Song with Heart and Real-Life Emotion

“Feeling” isn’t just another love song — it’s a deeply personal anthem inspired by real challenges many people face in relationships.

“My song is about a challenge many people face in relationships,” shares Mocha Jewel. “It’s about knowing your worth and knowing when to walk away. It’s about recognizing who you are and not letting anyone treat you less than you deserve. That’s the core of it — but it’s also open to interpretation. However, people connect with it is fine to me, as long as they can vibe to it.”

Blending soulful vocals with Afro-Caribbean rhythms, Mocha Jewel delivers a message of empowerment and self-love through sound and story. The track was produced by Mervin Douglas Budram, with background vocals by Chloe Shekinah, and beat production by Prod by Mender from Cameroon, Africa.

Artist Bio — Mocha Jewel

Born Maureen “Mocha Jewel” Budram on December 7, 1999, in Dangriga, Belize, Mocha Jewel grew up in a vibrant, musical family as the youngest of six siblings. She began singing in church and became nationally recognized after earning second place twice on KTV The Remix, Belize’s premier televised singing competition.

For Mocha Jewel, music has always been a refuge.

“Music has and still is an escape for me,” she says. “It’s a way to silence my mind or express how I truly feel without feeling judged. Music has saved me time and time again. I hope my music can resonate with others who may also need that escape.”

She continues to make music because she believes in manifestation and the power of dreams.

“I know I’ll be recognized someday. But even while I wait, I want to touch lives through my music.”

Her inspiration comes from everyday emotions and life experiences. Influenced by artists like Joyner Lucas, Masicka, Vybz Kartel, Shaniel Muir, and Jhene Aiko, she also looks up to icons such as Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., and Tupac Shakur.

Although just 25, Mocha Jewel represents a generation of southern Belizean talent determined to inspire hope.

“I feel like hope is what’s missing from the south. There’s so much talent here. So many aspiring artists who share the same dream of making it out of a small town — it just takes someone believing in them.”

A Rising Voice from Belize

With “Feeling,” Mocha Jewel officially steps into the spotlight as a new voice of authenticity, empowerment, and Caribbean soul. This debut single is just the beginning of her journey — a sound that speaks truth, strength, and freedom.
